THE EDITOR, Sir: TOURISM AND Industry Minister Aloun Assamba has made my day today, (September 8) and just in the nick of time before I add my 'letter of chiding' to numerous disappointed Jamaicans. I listened to her on Nationwide with Carol Narcisse and Cliff Hughes as she played down the seriousness of the statement she made and refused to take responsibility, my jaw dropped. This was not the woman of integrity that I have grown to respect as my niece at COK heaped praises on her administrative style. I believe her when she said "I do not support, nor practice political tribalism and I now realise that my utterance was incorrect. It reflected a position contrary to that which has guided my life both in the private and public domain." It is my perception that all politicians, when their comfort level is at its highest they are plagued with a 'spirit of blunder'. Respect my sister, and may all your future utterances be guided by humility. I am, etc., PAMELA WALTERS Pampouchie2000@yahoo.com
