MOST COMMUTERS who depend on the state-owned Jamaica Urban Transit Co. (JUTC) should be commuting normally from today.

In a news release yesterday, the company stated that starting at 6:00 a.m. today and until 7:00 p.m., most routes would have regular service.

However, residents in Golden Spring, Above Rocks and Border, west rural St. Andrew; Gordon Town, east rural St. Andrew, and Port Royal would not have JUTC service as these roads were difficult to navigate because of fallen trees and power lines.

The JUTC told The Gleaner that bike patrol personnel had visited those areas and determined the difficulty buses would have in making their rounds. The company assures commuters in these areas that regular service would resume as soon as the roads were sufficiently cleared.
