THE EDITOR, Sir:
IT IS with our heartfelt sympathy, that we send our condolence on hearing of the death of our very dear friend Sandra Sewell.
It was only a few weeks ago that we had the distinct pleasure of sitting at the table with her, Kenneth Wilson and others to discuss the future of the Youth Crime Watch of Jamaica movement in August Town and of ways to maximise its effectiveness. She was very excited at the prospects and continually stated her desire to make the programme stronger bringing the many things she had learned about conflict resolution and restorative justice to the youth of Jamaica.
So that Sandra Sewell's death not be in vain, we call upon ALL of the youth of Jamaica to rededicate themselves and their efforts to carry the Youth Crime Watch of Jamaica movement to all aspects of Jamaican life, both in the schools and communities, in honour of this most courageous young woman who has made the ultimate sacrifice for her county and fellow youth. Our prayers are with Ms. Sewell's family and friends and rest assured that you, the youth of Jamaica, have the total and complete support of your Youth Crime Watch friends from around the world.
If we may be of further assistance regarding this and/or any other matters of mutual concern, please do not hesitate to contact us.
I am, etc.,
