Ex-Im Bank giving aid to affected clients
published: Monday | September 27, 2004

IN THE aftermath of the devastation caused by Hurricane Ivan, the Ex-Im Bank, as its contri- bution to the recovery effort, announced that it is offering its affected clients, on a case-by-case basis, a moratorium on their principal loan repayments to the bank.

Pamella McLean, managing director of the bank, has advised that the sectors specifically targeted for this special assistance are agriculture, agro-processing and aquaculture which, from initial reports, have been the worst affected.

However, Mrs. McLean has confirmed that other sectors will also be given consideration where circumstances warrant. Depending on the bank's assessment of the situation, the period of moratorium may vary on a case-by-case assessment.
