ST. CATHERINE High set themselves up for a win-or-go home duel against Calabar High tomorrow after they trounced Vauxhall High 4-0 in Manning Cup action yesterday at Vauxhall.

Yesterday's win was part of a late surge made by St. Catherine, which pushed them to 11 points, the same as Group D rivals Calabar. Calabar, however, have a superior goal difference, by three, and St. George's College top the Group with 17 points.

Seymour Lewis (37th), Duran Dilworth (45th), Ronald Grant (80th) and Kemar Bennett (85th) were the marksmen for St. Catherine as the visitors had their way with Vauxhall.

CONFIDENCE INCREASING

St. Catherine coach Michael Small said his team's steady improvement is building its confidence for its all-important clash tomorrow.

"Going into the game I think the players will be confident and when we play Calabar we'll see a much improved performance," Small said.

St. Catherine's front-line wreaked havoc against Vauxhall all day but wasted 70 per cent of their chances. However, Dilworth had the most impressive goal that gave his team a 2-0 lead at halftime. He skilfully flipped the ball over Jodaine Redwood at the edge of the 18-yard box then struck a thunderous left-foot shot past a hapless Aundre Currie in goal.

"They are great players," expressed Small. "He (Dilworth) is a former Under-17 invitee and they all have great physical skills it is just the mental side that needs some work."

Small added that he played the first four games without most of his team which affected the earlier results.

"We played four games without three-quarters of the players that we have here and only recently we got back all of them," he said.
