Gifted child
published: Friday | November 19, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I AM wondering if I should allow my daughter to grow up in Jamaica.

At three years old she knows

1) The 2 times table

2) The 3 times table

3) The capital of Jamaica

4) The colour of the flag

5) The highest mountain

6) The longest river

7) The name of the Prime Minister

8) Where she lives

9) Her home phone number

10) My cell number

11) Where I work

12) Where her mommy works

13) The number of parishes in Jamaica, and lots more.

All my friends believe she is a gifted child. So do I. But should I allow her to grow up in this country where we are killing four a day?

Jamaica, please give me a good reason to keep her here. She may find the cure for AIDS or CANCER.

I am, etc.,

CONCERNED PARENT
