MANAGEMENT AND staff of the Gleaner Company took to the streets of the Corporate Area and Montego Bay yesterday, to sell the newspaper in an attempt to assist the Salvation Army in its annual Christmas Kettle Drive. From each copy of the newspaper sold yesterday, $2 will be given to the Salvation Army.
With a determined spirit, the team from The Gleaner, donned in the company's colours, commandeered 49 street corners across Kingston, Montego Bay, Ocho Rios and Mandeville, to ensure that the Salvation Army would receive as large a donation as possible. The funds raised by yesterday's venture will be put toward the
numerous charities that are supported by the Salvation Army.
Among them are homes for children and senior citizens, hostels, clinics, thrift stores, rehab centres, emergency and disaster services and the School for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
