G-G urges nation to pray
published: Wednesday | January 19, 2005

COOKE

THE ANNUAL National Prayer Breakfast takes place tomorrow at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston. The following is a message from the Governor-General Sir Howard Cooke.

"One of the most important events in the calendar year for Jamaica is the annual National Leadership Prayer Breakfast. This takes place at the beginning of each year and for many, many years as leaders we have met together.

"Through the annual National Leadership Prayer Breakfast we have been inspired by God to face the problems but also to rejoice for our successes. God has been good to us and we, as we listen to those who speak, get inspiration to acknowledge the greatness and goodness of God and to acknowledge that God needs to guide us and inspire us in our work.

"On the occasion of the 25th annual National Leadership Prayer Breakfast this year, I really want to say to our leaders in Jamaica, prayer is essential. And as we pray to God, let us ask Him to guide us and inspire us and lead us as we lead.
