A preliminary enquiry into a case of manslaughter against 27-year-old Headley Stanford of Buckfield, Ocho Rios, is to begin in the St. Ann's Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on April 14.
Stanford is charged with six counts of manslaughter arising out of the infamous Boxing Day tragedy on the Lodge main road in St. Ann last year, which claimed the lives of six persons including a mother, her son and two cousins.
The case against the accused came up for mention in the St. Ann's Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, February 22 before Resident Magistrate Yvonne Brown.
Stanford had his $1 million bail extended and is to continue reporting to the Ocho Rios police station twice per week.
Stanford was slapped with the charges after the Toyota Caldina motor car he was driving with seven passengers aboard, crashed into a gully and overturned in a canal along the Lodge main road on the night of December 26, 2004.
Six of the occupants died from drowning while Stanford and another passenger who is said to be a soldier escaped with minor injuries.
