Davies upbeat after slim gain
published: Sunday | March 6, 2005

DR. OMAR Davies' Campaign for Prosperity has responded positively to the findings of the latest Don Anderson polls published in the Daily Gleaner on Friday. Campaign organisers said that the team was greatly encouraged by the doubling of support for Dr. Davies since last year.

A late starter, Dr. Davies only formally announced his intention to offer himself as a candidate for the top PNP post when the vacancy arises, at his "soft launch" in December last year. This was followed by the distribution of a Campaign for Prosperity platform document and promotional material at the PNP's Delegates Conference in January.

LIVE PRESENTATION

In a release yesterday, the Campaign team said it is heartened by the fact that the latest Anderson polls were conducted early last month even before Davies made his first live presentation to delegates of the People's National Party. He continues to expand his contact with delegates and as they become more aware of his intended candidacy and the strength of his contribution, it is expected that his support will continue to grow.

VIDEO PROFILE

It was on February 20 that Dr. Davies made the first of a series of planned regional presentation in Mandeville, where he addressed an audience of over 1,000 PNP delegates and supporters of Region 5. At that event, his campaign video, "Emerging from the Past, Working in the Present, Leading into the Future" was launched. The video profiles the candidate, covering his work and achievements at the level of Party, Constituency and State.
