Facey on the double

JAMAICA'S SIMONE Facey was a double winner at last weekend's Junior College Indoor Championships in Charleston, United States.

Facey, the 2002 World Junior 100m silver medallist, won both the 60m and 200m titles.

In the 60m, the former Vere Technical athlete ran a personal best 7.32 seconds to beat fellow Jamaican Kerron Stewart (7.59).

PERSONAL BEST

In the 200m, Facey won in 23.80 seconds to finish ahead of Stewart (24.17) and former Holmwood Technical athlete Tracey Rowe (24.55).

Former Vere athlete Keisha Brown won the 60m hurdles in 8.56 seconds.

Brown also palced second in the long jump, with a leap of 6.02m, behind the United States' Kerry Walker (6.04m).

Michelle Williamson, an ex-St. Jago athlete, won the women's high jump with a personal best 1.78m.

Clora Williams ran 55.82 seconds to finish second in the women's 400m.
