THE EDEN Gardens complex on Lady Musgrave Road, St. Andrew, will soon be inundated with customers waiting to gather information on how to change their lives.

This information will be available at the Wellness and Lifestyle Expo 2005 which will run from April 28 to May 1.

Organisers of the expo hope it will continue to expose the public to different areas of the fast growing concept of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The expo was launched at the Eden Gardens complex yesterday morning.

This year's theme is 'Put Wellness in Your Lifestyle'.

This is the third year of the expo and as usual there will be various booths and products for the public's viewing. Other attractions include Tai Chi demonstrations and various workshops to unravel the mysteries of wellness and lifestyle issues.

PROMOTING HEALTHY LIVING

According to Dr. Henry Lowe, executive chairman of Eden Gardens, there will be new activities this year. On April 28, after the official launch, the first National Awards on Wellness and Lifestyle will take place. Individuals and companies from the media, health care sector and private sector that have embraced and promoted the idea of wellness and healthy living will be honoured. Later that evening, the Caribbean and Wellness Lifestyle Magazine will also be launched.

Another first for the expo is a designated day for students. On April 29, students from schools which have wellness and science clubs will interact with professionals in these fields. The students will also be quizzed on their knowledge of the topic areas. Students from the health care sector, for example nurses and trainee doctors, will have their turn later that afternoon. There will also be a live broadcast of 'An Ounce of Wellness' with Dr. Anthony Vendryes on Power 106 FM.

The final two days of the expo (Sunday, April 30 and Monday, May 1), will be dedicated to numerous lectures on 'Lifestyle Transformation' and 'Financial Wellness'. Within the four days, there will be presenters bringing the message of wellness. Among them is Trinidadian wellness expert, Dr. Geoffrey Frankson, and local gurus such as Dr. Jacqueline Watson.
