Windies players in action
published: Saturday | April 16, 2005

Powell

West Indies players Wavell Hinds, Darren Powell and Jermaine Lawson will all turn out for their respective teams in today's second round of the Supreme Ventures Super Cup.

Hinds, who stuck a double century for the West Indies in their drawn first Test against South Africa in Guyana, will represent defending champions Kensington against St. Catherine Parish at Port Esquivel.

Powell is expected to play for Kensington.

Lawson, who missed this year's Carib Beer Series, will turn out for St. Catherine CC, who will travel to play Kingston at Emmet Park.

Chris Gayle's Lucas are down to play JDF but it was unconfirmed last night whether the West Indies opener would suit-up for his team.

Pagon won't play

However, it was confirmed that Donovan Pagon, who played in the first two Test matches of the 2005 Digicel Series against South Africa, will be missing when Melbourne travel to Kirkvine to play Manchester. Marlon Samuel will also be absent.

In today's round of matches, Kingston hosting St. Catherine CC is the feature match and SportsMax's Match of the Week at Emmett Park.

St. Catherine, who were unlucky not to win last year's Super Cup, because of an umpire's error, will also have Odean and Bevon Brown in their bowling line-up.

With Tamar Lambert, Danza Hyatt and Keith Hibbert away in England, the Saints' batting will be led by Renford Pinnock Jr., and the twins, Dean and David Morgan.

In the day's other game, St. Mary are at Gray's Inn awaiting St. Elizabeth.
