KITSON

GRANTLEY STEPHENSON, chairman and chief executive officer of Kingston Wharves Limited, announces the appointment of Garth Sebastian Kitson to the post of general manager of operations.

A results-oriented professional with considerable success in directing and managing strategic business development with proven ability to lead effectively, Mr. Kitson is a graduate of the University of the West Indies where he obtained a bachelor's degree in chemical and process engineering and a master's degree in computer-based management information systems. Mr. Kitson also obtained a diploma in chemical technology from the University of Technology.

Mr. Kitson joined Kingston Wharves in January 2005 with a wealth of management experience having been employed at the managerial level for some 10 years.

His career has taken him to J. Wray & Nephew Limited (a subsidiary of the Lascelles deMercado Group) where he held several management positions including project manager for production operation, bottling and blending manager, bulk operations and inventory systems manager, production planning manager and bulk warehousing and inventory systems manager.

A past president of the J. Wray & Nephew Cooperative Credit Union Limited, he was also employed to Associated Manufacturers Limited as production manager from 1995 to 1996.

A sports enthusiast, Mr. Kitson is a member of the matching commissary of the Kingston & St. Andrew Football Association. He is also a member of the Jamaica Reach to Recovery.
