Be vigilant for the children's sake
published: Tuesday | May 3, 2005

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I JUST read the brief item on the rape and murder of the seven-year-old child. This is a hard one. On top of every thing else, our children are increasingly being raped and murdered. It is my prayer that this does not soon become forgotten for another crisis in our lives. It has become so that murder is simply statistics to most of us oh 20 more killed on the weekend next story. Whatever became of the incident with the 12-year-old and the taxi driver?

It is my prayer that this mother and son will not look to blame each other or themselves, the person to blame here is the monster that perpetrated this terrible crime. He will not go unpunished.

My prayer is that if there is anyone who has information that they will speak up and not allow this one to go unsolved.

Let us learn from this and be more vigilant, for our own sake and the sake of our children.

I am, etc.,
