Cowering in fear
published: Friday | May 6, 2005

THE EDITOR, Sir:

HOW COULD they? I feel so incensed by this. They killed three police officers in nine hours and no street protests, huh?

Guess if it was the other way around, it would be okay to do so? Is this indicative of how the society has devolved?

I feel especially cut up by Inspector Walsh's death. He was such a gentleman both by hearing him and hearing the character references.

These parasites of society come in, cut short productive lives and the society just stays around cowering in fear. When will we say enough is enough and stop the hypocrisy?

This is one of the worst attacks on the JCF in recent history (remember the Olympic Gardens police station?) and I hope it shocks the nation into action.

The police need to get courageous now more than ever. I wish to extend my condolences to the families of the slain police officers.

I am, etc.,

MELVILLE LUMLEY

Eltham View, Spanish Town
