Employers' grouping readies for convention
published: Tuesday | May 10, 2005

PLANS ARE well advanced for the annual convention of the Jamaica Employers' Federation (JEF), to be held at the Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort in Ocho Rios from May 19-22.

The 23rd year of the convention is being held under the theme "Towards Employers of Choice: Making it Happen!"

"Convention 2005 is the biggest and most important meeting of its kind in Jamaica and the English-speaking Caribbean and we have a great line-up of local, regional and international speakers who will really rev up the event," says Audrey Hinchcliffe, president of JEF.

TRACKS OF LEARNING

The four-day event will focus on major important tracks of learning for employers such as leadership, business performance management, the legal and regulatory framework, enhancing employee value, learning, innovation and technology, trade and global business, and social issues and the workplace.

On day one, there will be pre-convention workshops on major issues with featured presenters including labour lawyers Angela Robertson and Gregory Reid; public speaking experts Paul Sharp and Robert Scott; protocol guru Merrick Needham, and Sharon Brown focusing on business performance management.

The opening ceremony will follow with the welcome by Audrey Hinchcliffe and the keynote address by business executive and international motivational speaker, Frank Candy.
