LETTER OF THE DAY - Church's role can be disruptive
THE EDITOR, Sir: I AM delighted that society and the government recognise that the Church has a role to play in bringing renewal to the country. The Prime Minister said as much in a speech in Ocho Rios to a church group.
Problems with RGD
THE EDITOR, Sir, I RECENTLY heard Dr. Holness of the Registrar General Dept. (RGD) on KLAS FM on a Tuesday morning speaking to the great work the RGD is doing in regards to registration. I find this to be quite ironic when compared to my experience.
Roots of crime
THE EDITOR, Sir: THERE ARE three main things that cause crime in Jamaica: corruption, poverty and the lack of justice. Corruption impoverishes a nation and its people and we have seen it in this country for many years now.
Sheer PR
THE EDITOR, Sir: CALL ME naive, but I don't see why it's taking a rocket science approach to deal with corruption. Calling a summit? What for? Sheer PR, if you ask me.
Cops need state-of-the-art equipment
THE EDITOR, Sir: IT HAS become increasingly obvious to me that with the introduction of several new crime shows on television, it is only criminals who are educating themselves on how to get away with their wrongdoings.
