Dawn Ritch - a sore loser
published: Wednesday | May 25, 2005

THE EDITOR, Sir:

DAWN RITCH'S article on Bruce Golding in The Sunday Gleaner of May 15 comes as no surprise. Sworn to 'get Golding' advertisements and smear campaigns during the run-off for the leadership campaign between Golding and Charles, Ritch is a sore loser.

That she could not take her cue from Pearnel Charles, who has joined the team to rid the country of the worst government that this country has ever seen, she is now determined to muddy up the waters by turning the inevitable screws, i.e., the old time haunt that Golding is a clone of Seaga.

What an intelligent person would do is to think of the reason why Golding has had to go to the defence of a people who have been stigmatised, brutalised and murdered by the very state which has sworn to uphold and protect.

There is no other constituency that has suffered at the hands of the state like West Kingston, and Ms. Ritch knows this.

If it is that Ms. Ritch wants to play with people's lives, then she should come out and have the guts to run in a constituency like West Kingston and see for herself what it really takes to uphold and to protect innocent people who have had to endure the terror of beng nothing else except West Kingston people, in particular, Tivoli residents.

Sorry, Dawn, that your man lost. But be big enough to take your loss and move on.

I am, etc.,

SALLY PORTEOUS

Mandeville
