THE FRENCH Embassy on Hillcrest Avenue was turned into a fashion house for one night, last Friday.

The collections from French designer giant Xulibet, as well as pieces from individual designers were on show. The designers' work were later presented at the International Mecca of Style show which was held the day after at the UWI Assembly Hall. So, guests at the embassy were privileged to be given a sneak preview of some of the hot fashions that will pop up world-wide in the months to come.

CONVERTED CATWALK

Clothes from designers Lisa McIntosh, Carlton Brown, Susan Ande-Su and Xulibet were paraded by Saint International models. Guests who were gathered by the poolside, had to clear the converted catwalk for them to strut their stuff.

Guests who saw the show included Thomas Curelli of Alliance Francaise; Thalia Lyn; Ambassador Dr. Matthew Beaubrun; Karen Lemaire; Pat Francis; Capt. David McRae; Joseph A. Matalon; Yvon Desulme; Gerd and Mara Jarchow; Elisabeth Mathers and Dr. Laura Tanna.
