Group to review Emancipation Park Code of Conduct
published: Wednesday | June 8, 2005

MOSES

MINISTER OF National Security Dr. Peter Phillips and his Opposition counterpart, Derrick Smith, are to name a small group to review and revise the private sector-proposed Emancipation Park Code of Conduct.

According to Minister of Education, Youth and Culture Maxine Henry-Wilson, the group would meet with private sector representative Peter Moses to examine the code.

"It was agreed that despite the change in wording that has taken place, there were still aspects of the code that needed to be revised," Mrs. Henry-Wilson said during Monday's post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House.

She was sitting in for Information Minister Burchell Whiteman who was off the island.

According to Mrs. Henry-Wilson, Cabinet expected that ministers of Government would sign the declaration by June 30, and that mayors, councillors and constituency caretakers would sign no later than July 31.
