WATERHOUSE AND Tivoli Gardens played to a lacklustre 0-0 draw in their Wray and Nephew National Premier League (NPL) game at the Waterhouse Mini-Stadium yesterday.
Waterhouse, the only team starting the day with a chance of overhauling Harbour View for the $1 millionr prize, ended the preliminary round in second position on 71 points, three behind the 'Stars of the East'.
Portmore United sneaked into third place with 69 points ahead of Tivoli Gardens on 68, after thumping Invaders 7-0.
The semi-final match-ups have been decided with Harbour View playing Tivoli Gardens and Waterhouse tackling Portmore on June 16 and 19.
COACHES HAPPY
Both coaches, Geoffrey Maxwell of Waterhouse and Glendon Bailey of Tivoli Gardens, were fairly happy with the result and their semi-final match-ups.
It's not a problem who we play in the semi-finals because that is what you work for all season to achieve," said Maxwell.
"It was a low game from where you watch the game, but we are satisfied. I think the result is favourable as both teams tried to get the better of each other and both teams cancelled out each other," he explained.
As for Bailey, winning the title means beating any of the top teams, and he said his side would rise to the occasion.
"To win the championship we have to beat either of the three, so it doesn't matter. Harbour View had the better of us this season but this is a totally new ball game," Bailey said.
"This is where my team rose to the occasion last year and I am confident that we can rise to the occasion again," he said.
"We just have to look at what we need to work on and where we are going into the semi-final."
