Former JLP MP found dead
published: Monday | June 13, 2005

THE MONTEGO Bay police are investigating the death of Jeffrey Roach, businessman and former Member of Parliament (MP) for East Central St. James whose body was found yesterday morning with a gunshot wound to the head, in Mooreland Farms, St. James.

Family members reportedly became concerned when the 64-year-old former Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) MP failed to return to his home in Irwindale the previous night.

During a search, his body was found in bushes at 10:00 a.m. in Mooreland Farms, where he normally shoots birds. He suffered from a gunshot wound which entered his mouth and exited the back of his head. Mr. Roach's licensed .38 calibre revolver was found in his hand.

A bottle of rum was found beside his body.
