'Richie Pooh's' trial begins
published: Friday | July 29, 2005

KEVIN TYNDALE, otherwise called 'Richie Pooh', who it is being alleged is a member of the Gideon Warriors Gang, on Wednesday appeared under tight security in the Gun Court for his trial.

Tyndale is facing trial for illegal possession of firearm and robbery with aggravation.

Justice Donald McIntosh is presiding over Tyndale's case.

The Crown, represented by Anthony Armstrong, Crown Counsel, is leading evidence that about 6:15 p.m. on January 28, 2003, the complainant, who is a contractor, went to Tavern Drive in Papine, St. Andrew, to meet someone but the person did not show up.

He was going towards his motor vehicle when Tyndale and another man confronted him. They pushed him to the ground and Tyndale ordered his accomplice to shoot him. The man was shot and his licensed firearm taken from him. He was also shot five other times and was hospitalised for six weeks.

The complainant testified yesterday that it was Tyndale and his accomplice who had shot him and robbed him of his firearm and jewellery.

Attorney-at-law C.J. Mitchell is representing Tyndale.
