Doctor's advice - Can her pain be cured?
published: Sunday | September 4, 2005

Q: Hello, doc. My sex life is all mashed up, and I hope you can help me. Whenever time I try to have sex with a guy, I get real BAD pain. I scream - and I just cannot go on. I lost my last boyfriend because of this.

Doc, it started three years ago, just after I had my baby. When I tried to resume sex, it pained me terribly. So eventually, I had to tell my boy friend 'No more sex.' So he walked out on me, and on the baby.

Since then, I have occasionally tried to have sex, but it has been no good. All the while, there has been pain, pain, pain.

But I am not a 'frigid' woman, doc. I have always been a real sexy lady. I would love to have a sex life again. Some nights I am so frustrated that I feel like masturbating.

In fact, doc, one evening when I was touching myself I found what seem like a great big cut or tear in one of my labia. It was real tender.

Doc, I think that this 'tear' is the cause of my pain, and the reason why I cannot have sex. If anything touches that cut, it is agony.

So what has happened to me, doc? And is there any way I can get cured?

A: I am real sorry to hear about all the pain you have had. It is pretty clear that what has happened is this.

During childbirth three years ago, you somehow got a bad cut in one of your labia (which are the 'lips') of the vaginal opening. Unfortunately, nobody noticed this at the time - so nothing was done about it. It is possible that the cut then got infected, but I cannot say for certain, since I have not examined you.

In any case, since that time the cut has been paining you whenever a man has tried to 'enter' you.

Now, this problem can be cured quite easily. But it will be necessary for you to take a little operation. A gynaecologist (a surgeon-specialist who deals with this sort of 'woman's problem') can operate on you to 'repair' the cut rather like how you would mend a tear in a piece of clothing.

So what you must do now is to see a doc this week. He or she will check out this cut, and then send you to the gynaecologist who will cure you. Good luck.

Q: Doc, I am a guy of 35 and over the last five years I have developed a strange sore place, under the foreskin. It bleeds and 'weeps' a lot. Please recommend a cream that will cure it.

A: I do not think that any cream will cure this. It sounds quite serious, and it could even be CANCER of the penis. Please try to get yourself examined by a doctor within the next 48 hours.

Q: I keep getting sore throats, doc. Would it help me if I give up smoking?

A: Yes - though the improvement will take a little time.

Q: I live in Miami. I gave my little girl a sandwich that had some kind of American 'nut spread' in it. Suddenly, her lips got puffy, and her chest started to make 'fee fee' noises. Was this an allergy?

A: Yes. And it could be real dangerous next time. She must avoid nuts and nut products. See a doc, who will prescribe a special injection to use if she has another attack.
