THE EDITOR, Sir:I READ where Mr. Delroy Chuck was taken to task for predicting what is going to befall Jamaica but not making any
suggestions on how to stop the slide and move forward. Typical politician.
I remember many years ago I had the privilege of attending a function where the guest speaker was the Honourable Robert Lightbourne. It was memorable because, not only did he point out the problems, but really did offer positive suggestions on how to solve these problems. He received a standing ovation from a very tough crowd.
56 YEARS YOUNG
I am 56 years young and have listened to my full share of politicians and their offerings but sad to say, none has stood out in my mind as that did.
To today's politicians I say, not because you are not in power it means that you should not offer solutions; remember you have chosen to be public servants so act the part. Do what is right for the common good. You are the ones that can make a difference. You all have children. Help make Jamaica a place where they will want to live and prosper and raise their children.
I am, etc.,
