
TALBERTTHE SECOND staging of the Radio 2 Kingston Half Marathon will run off at Emancipation Park tomorrow morning at 6:00.
Wainard Talbert and Tamica Thomas will try to retain their titles, but should expect strong challenges from Rupert Green, winner of the Jamaica Half Marathon Trial and Reggae Marathon female champion Areita Martin respectively.
Martin also won the Organisa-tion of Eastern Caribbean States Half Marathon last Sunday in St. John's, Antigua.
Phillip Edwards of Jamaica Defence Force, Andrew Gutz-more, who finished fourth in the OECS Half Marathon, along with Marrecia James, among others, should be among the top five.
The 13 miles route will take athletes from Oxford Road (Emancipation Park), on to Tom Redcam Avenue, Arthur Wint Drive, Mountain View Avenue, Old Hope Road, Munro Road, Wellington Drive, Ottawa Drive, Mona Road, back to Old Hope Road, on to Hope Road, Half- Way Tree Road, back on to Oxford Road and then repeat the route to finish on Knutsford Boulevard.
Over $400,000 in cash and prizes will be up for grabs. School relay teams will be vying for cash, trophies and computers.
After the marathon there will be a health and fitness fair, along with a fitness demonstration and competition and cheerleading competition.
