THE MANDEVILLE-BASED Northern Caribbean University (NCU) has announced its decision to charge all Caribbean Community (CARICOM) students the same level of fees.
NCU has also retained Dr. Herbert Thompson as president for a new five-year term, citing the rapid growth of the institution under his stewardship.
Dr. Thompson becomes the longest serving head of the Seventh-day Adventist educational institution which covers The Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands, the Cayman Islands and Jamaica.
The NCU Board gave the nod to Dr. Thompson for his fourth consecutive five-year term, following the church's recently-concluded 13th session, or fifth quinquennial held at the NCU Mandeville campus.
"I appreciate the confidence the board has placed in me in giving me another term," said Dr. Thompson.
He said the administration had taken the decision to allow all CARICOM students to pay the same tuition fees because NCU was "fast becoming the university of choice, not only in Jamaica, but in the Caribbean".
NCU offers graduate and undergraduate degrees to individuals from 36 countries, with its faculty drawn from 14 countries.
