J$13m assistance for fisherfolk
OVER 3,800 fisherfolk islandwide are receiving assistance to recover from the effects of Hurricane Ivan through a J$13.8 million grant provided by the United Way of Jamaica, through the Council for Voluntary Social Services (CVSS).

THE AGRICULTURE Ministry, through the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA), is encouraging farmers and other interested persons to get involved in pig farming, in the drive to increase local production to meet the growing demand for pork.
