DAYTIME GOSSIP - Will NBC toss 'Passions' and 'Days' out of the Peacock's Nest?
published: Saturday | December 17, 2005

Seli Groves, Contributor

Ronn Moss (Ridge) B&B.

THERE ARE new rumours that NBC plans to reshuffle its daytime line-up, which does not bode well for Days of Our Lives and Passions. Both soaps are popular with their fans, but they're pretty much stuck in place in the ratings listings and don't indicate the kind of upward movement that makes network nabobs happy.

However, unlike some of the actors on CBS' Guiding Light and As the World Turns, who have confided that they do worry that their soaps may be taken off the air, the actors on the Peacock's productions say rumours of cancellations are way off the mark. In any event, by the time you read this, we'll have a better idea of what NBC is planning to do.

Meanwhile, the Sci Fi Channel will offer daily off-network airings of Passions starting February 6. The episodes will air at 9 a.m. EST.

DANCING WITH THE STARS

SoapTalk's Lisa Rinna (ex-Billie, Days) is one of the celebrities who will be tripping the light fantastic on season two of ABC's Dancing with the Stars, which bows in on January 5.

PASSIONS

Kathleen Noone, who has been delighting us all with her current stint as Edna Wallace on Passions, will appear on the January 24 episode of the WB's Supernatural, which stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles (ex-Eric, Days).

ALL MY CHILDREN

All My Children welcomes Debra Jo Rupp (That '70s Show), who joins the Pine Valleyites on December 29 as a homeless woman named Victoria who becomes a pivotal fixture in a crisis involving Jonathan (Jeff Branson).

Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall, AMC), who starred in the hit flick The Grudge, has signed to reprise her character, Karen, in The Grudge 2. It'll be a brief celluloid rematch, lasting just long enough for Karen to pass on the curse.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES

Desperate Housewives' Eva Longoria (ex-The Young and the Restless) wants everyone to know that contrary to all the tabloid 'revelations', she's not pregnant, nor is she engaged or married. She also notes that if any of these things happen to her, she'll let us know.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

Contrary to some rumours that he'll be leaving his role as Ridge on The Bold and the Beautiful to focus on his music career, Ronn Moss is back as the Forrester fashionisto. We'll hear his voice on the telephone on December 29, and see the rest of him materialise on screen January 5.

Happy New Year, everyone. Peace.
