Portmore Knockout Football rolls on
published: Saturday | December 17, 2005

FIRST-ROUND ACTION in the Dr. Paul Robertson-sponsored Portmore Knockout Football competition continues tomorrow with four matches.

In the Passagefort playing field double-header, Daytona tackle Passagefort United at 1:00 p.m. while Passagefort FC face Caymanas Gardens Site D at 3:00 p.m.

GARDENS FC VS HELLSHIRE

Over at Greater Portmore playing field, Caymanas Gardens FC first take on Hellshire at 1:00 p.m., after which Westport play Wanderers at 3:00 p.m.

In last Sunday's opening round, defending champions Greater Portmore started the defence of their title with a 1-0 win over Silverstone at Passagefort playing field.

Greater Portmore's lone goal came in the 77th minute from the boot of Albert Elliott, who latched on to a loose ball and shot wide of the goalkeeper.

Silverstone came close to scoring on a couple occasions but poor shooting let them down.

In the curtain-raiser, Wanderers scored a 1-0 win over Braeton Newtown. The all-important goal came in the 39th minute from Rodrigue Johnson.
