Camille and Andrew Stephenson.
In May 2005, Camille Dunn entered her bedroom to discover the the most romantic scene. The warm flicker of candlelight, rose petals strewn about and her fiancé Andrew Stephenson playing Now and Forever I Will Be Your Man on his guitar; and she knew he was going to ask for her hand in marriage.
The couple met in 1991 while they were both students at Manchester High School. "We were friends and he often visited me. Then, one of his friends told him that he liked me and he backed off," said Dunn. In spite of this the two kept in touch and their paths crossed at University of the West Indies Mona Campus (UWI) where they were residents on the same hall.
Camille's marriage was a joyous occasion not only for her but her entire family, The Charlton and Dunn women have a history of not marrying. In fact, one of the family jokes is that an aunt has offered a whole cow to the first Charlton woman to get married! It was not surprising then that family members journeyed from all over the world be be part of this historic event.
They were married at Ridgenmount United Church in Mandeville, on Saturday December 10, 2005. Officiating ministers were: Rev'd. Oliver Daley of the Ridgemount United Church and Rev'd. Agnes Farquarson of the Christian Holiness Church.
The reception was held at the Manchester Club, Mandeville and the couple honeymooned in St. Lucia.
