DECKED OUT in United States of America colours and with over 500 fans in the stands shouting 'U.S.A.', 'U.S.A.', 'U.S.A.', Kingston College (KC) brought the curtain down on the second edition of the Douglas Forrest Invitational Track and Field Meet with an impressive victory in the 4x400m.

The quartet comprised Oshane Braham, Leford Green, André Wellington and Cawayne Jervis. KC won the event in 3:16.1 over JC (3:19.9) and Champs winner for the past two years Wolmer's (3:22.9).

KC coach Lennox Graham was impressed. "I thought we did well. The time 3:16.1 is very good at this time.

Wolmer's coach Bert Cameron, quizzed about his early defeat and the possibility of him not retaining his 4x400m relay title at Boys Championships, said his best team was not on show.

"It's just about one person who is on my relay team that ran today and it was the lead-off man (Josef Robertson). We are looking for better things to come later on this season," he said.

MEET DOUBLE WINNERS

St. Jago's pair of Dorain Samuels and Peta-Gaye Hamilton, joined Queen's Samantha Henry as the meet's double winners.

Class One athlete Samuels won the 800m and 1500m in 2:17.0 and 5:07.11 respectively while Hamilton won the same events in 2:20.2 and 5:02.06 for Class Two girls.

In other events, Queen's won the girls' 4x400m event in 3:55.5 ahead of Bridgeport (4:07.5) and Oberlin (4:14.6).

Antonique Campbell (25.6) beat Carrie Russell of St. Thomas Technical (25.6).

JC's Bengallo Morrison won the 800m for Class One boys in 1:54.70 ahead of Romaine McDonald of Cornwall College (1:59.60).

Teivakie Lewin of Herbert Morrison won the boys' Class Three high jump with a leap of 1.80m ahead of Ricardo Haye of Wolmer's (1.75m) and St. Jago's Jelaine Bogle (1.75m).

Alpha's Jerine Foster threw 11.86m to win the girls' shot put open over Zana Ramsay of Bridgeport (10.08).
