NESTLED IN the hills just above Kitson Town, St. Catherine, Wynter's Park and Farm has for the past 10 years been an excellent retreat for adults and children. A popular venue for birthday parties, weddings and receptions the park brags several recreational and educational activities. Among the host of leisure activities for children is a fenced playground that comprises helicopters and merry-go-round rides.

Those four years old and over can enjoy the many slides, swings, bounceabout, see-saw, pony horse swings and tyre swings. When the children get hungry they can replenish their bodies at the jungle-gym bar or the quick bite stalls. The food vending areas have a variety of sodas, snacks, hot dogs, burgers, sandwiches, soups, fruits and bun and cheese.

The fun is not yet over. The children can practise their games on the basketball or netball courts, or on the football field.

MINI ZOO

For children who are less active, they can tour the mini zoo where rabbits, ducks, geese and a variety birds are housed. There is also a cave with turtles and crocodiles. Or, watch a movie in the movie house. For an educational and informative tour the heritage house, comprising sculptures, clothing and household items used in the 1940s to the 1960s, can be visited.

If the children become ill because of running around and having too much fun there is a sick bay on the grounds.Wynter's Park does not only cater to the children. There is a greenhouse where an array of plants and flowers can be viewed and purchased. However, the most popular adult spot at Wynter's is the natural trial known as 'horny mountain',72 steps leading to the top.

"Wynter's Park is the place to be because we provide entertainment and educational activities. It's also the place to be as we ensure that our guests are well taken care of," said receptionist, Samantha Level.
