( L - R ) CAROLE ISSA-CARTADE AND CARLA SEAGA
WELL MY darlings, y'all might have missed the fabulous celebrations with them falling right there in the midst of all that hullabaloo about the now ended Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival in the second city.
But mi daahlings whilst the fabulous were busy toasting restaurateur extraordinaire Betty Delfosse-Ingleton, two Mondays ago, on her birthday; those fabulous ladies who brunch on the North Coast, were also toasting one of their own. Glamour-puss Sandra Kennedy-Lyn, and Betty Delfosse-Ingleton share the same January 23 birthday.
On the 28th, it was the lovely Peterina Lindsay, of Hedonism III who celebrated her special day, Wednesday, February 1, Education Minister Maxine Henry-Wilson marked her special day made that more so by a charming little surprise do thrown in her honour, but more anon.
Also celebrating on Wednesday was the scribe Novia McDonald-Whyte; and Digicel's David Hall. Their combined celebratory party was hosted by the Supreme Ventures big trio. Selean Wong's cake was absolute mastery and the menu was yummy. Other members of the media and one special Digicel bigwig joined the party.
Yesterday being Thursday, February 2, businessman Paul Issa marked his special day. His sibling Carol Issa-Cartade celebrated on the 20th, as friends and family joined her in a champagne toast on her birthday, but with her birthday falling on the 20th of January, the same day as the anniversary of the Couples Hotel, founded by their late father, hers too was a muted celebration.
It will be all about the charmingly lovely Carla Seaga, come tomorrow Saturday the 4th. However, she will mark her special day with a private and intimate do, naturally restricted to immediate family and very close friends.
Come Sunday the lovely Diane Ellis, will celebrate her special day; whilst friends and family have joined Ms. hotness herself, Michelle LaPorte, in the countdown to the big four-o.
OVER THE MOON
And born to John Windle and wife Cherise Francis-Windle of Laguna Beach, California and Long Island, New York, last week, baby daughter Victoria Windle. Mom and daughter are doing fine and father is over the moon.
And James Gill and wife Marina Gill are also celebrating the arrival of their own little bundle of joy, as their first born, a girl, arrived this week.
Two weeks ago the charming but somewhat shy and retiring Sophia Leahong, the PA to GM Kevin Levee, of Hedonism III in Runaway Bay celebrated her birthday. Now, it was supposed to be a quiet affair highlighted by an outing to the second city for Chinese fare, but friends and well-wishers decided otherwise.
And so it was that a handful of friends gathered at the Resort's famous Octopussy Disco, the Saturday night before to see in Ms. Leahong's birthday with her, and to cement the notion that indeed, dancing with friends and sharing a few toasts to mark the birthday.
SURPRISE PARTY
The real party, however, was to come at 3:00 p.m. the Sunday afternoon, as friends and relatives had packaged a surprise birthday celebration for the unsuspecting birthday girl, at the very enchanted Blue Shutters Villa, over there on the beach, in Runaway Bay.
Now, the Blue Shutters Villa, is simply and without a doubt, one of the more fabulous properties, on this here island.
And so y'all can imagine that guests needed no prompting to get to this little piece of heaven. Mind you, there were a few anxious moments as organiser Michelle LaPorte, who planned the affair had advised guests to be in place by 3:00 p.m. and when the appointed hour came and went and there were only a handful of the 20 or so expected guests in attendance, the sex-pot began having kittens and then some!
With her arrival choreographed for maximum surprise, Sophia Leahong walked into a welcoming chorus of 'Surprise', followed by the Happy Birthday chorus, with a stunned look on her face, a look that remained there until she made out familiar faces from behind the chorus, as friends emerged from the pack to embrace her and offer her their words of congratulations.
The shock and embraces out of the way, it was then back to a very laid-back Sunday afternoon, made that much more so by the Reggae Punch, and the Baron Philippe De Rothschild (Merlot). that was the Vino du Jour.
LIGHT-HEARTED CHATTER
Dears, with the sea behaving particularly cross, spitting forth froth unto the shores of the villa's private beach, swimming was definitely on no one's mind, leisure was, however, and so it was guests just gave in to the charm and alluring magic of the property, allowing themselves to drink of its intoxicating beauty, as they shared in frivolous light-hearted chatter whilst perusing the well-laid-out grounds.
Doves, it all made for one fabulously welcoming affair and as the evening wore on spirits soared and there was no escaping the beauty of the occasion, as punctuated by good company.
Glamour kitten Cecile Levee, and her two daughters - Kennedy and Spencer Levee, were out for the occasion, as were: the fabulous Elsa Kong; Dr. Greg Thomas and companion the fabulously lovely Karen Neita; Robert Haughton; Elise Yap, her sibling Daryl Yap and their mom Gloria Yap; Andre Elliott; Donna Grant-Clarke; Mark Cole; Sandrene Prendergast-Weichenberger; Joseph Kalynuik; Leejay Williams; Stephen Pottinger; Michelle Davis; Alexis Monteith; Peterina Lindsay; Wendy Gavin; Aston Lawson; Charisse Pink; Ben Quan-Kep; plus a number of others.
And yes, it one fab outing!
