Murder suspect killed
published: Sunday | February 5, 2006

A MAN who was being sought by the police in connection with the murder of two of three women who were abducted October last year, was shot and killed yesterday morning by the police.

Superintendent in charge of St. Andrew South, Newton Amos, said the suspect, Mark Johnson, otherwise known as, 'Moony', was shot and killed shortly after 10 o'clock in Norman Lane during an operation carried out by the police.

He said a gun and two live rounds of ammunition were taken from Johnson's body.

The three women were abducted from a bar in mid October. All three women were allegedly raped and shot and their bodies dumped in a hole in bushes near Greenwich Town. However, one of the women was not killed and she managed to escape.

The police have since arrested and charged two men in connection with the crimes.

Alton Heath otherwise called 'Sick Head', was arrested and charged for
aiding and abetting rape, and Stephen Altiman Needham otherwise called 'Hulk of Gold', was charged for
murder and rape.

Superintendent Amos says the police are still searching for four other men in connection with the incident.
