Large turnout for Money Expo 2006
published: Sunday | February 26, 2006

The managing director of Today's Money Limited, Claudette Crooks, says thanks to the large audience which came out for the 2006 Money Expo at the Hilton Hotel in New Kingston last weekend.

A STEADY flow of persons descended on the Hilton Kingston hotel last weekend for Money Expo 2006 as they sought to get information and ideas with which to improve their financial positions.

And, with 31 booths on display representing banks, investment houses, insurance providers, credit unions, government agencies and regulators they were not disappointed. The expo was organised by Today's Money Limited.

It was officially opened by the CEO of the Statistical Institute of Jamaica, Sonia Jackson, who also launched the Today's Money Website, todaysmoneylimited.com.

The Expo featured a series of 12 professionally presented lectures on a variety of topics ranging from retirement planning, financing university education, investing in the stock market, borrowing wisely and financing a business.

The lectures were well supported throughout the day with many persons sitting through several presentations. The question and answer sessions were as vibrant as the animated presentations aided by technology.

The day's activities were capped with two timely panel discussions on 'The Implications of the New Pensions Regulations for Retirement Planning' and 'Transforming an Idea into a Business'.

Mrs. Valerie Crawford from Ex-Im Bank received the trophy for the best presentation while the plaque for the Best Booth went to First Global Financial Services.
