John Mills institution highlight junior section

Brigitte Foster-Hylton sprints down the home stretch to lead the MVP Track Club's women's team to a record-setting victory in the 4x100 metres relay at the Gibson Relays at the National Stadium on Saturday. The team, which also included Sherone Simpson, Shericka Williams and Nyoka Cole, stopped the clock in 43.60 seconds, well ahead of G.C. JOHN MILLS Primary & Junior High dominated the junior section of Saturday's 30th staging of the Gibson Relays at the National Stadium.

In the boys' 4x100m Under-12 Prep, Hydel ran 50.97 to break their mark of 51.48 set in 2003. Mona finished second in 53.18 and Portmore Missionary were third in 54.06.

Hydel also took the girls' event in 53.83 over St. Catherine 54.66.

In the 4x200m, John Mills (1:36.20) won ahead of Mico (1:40.24) and Central Branch (1: 40.47). The girls' event also went to John Mills in 1:49.43 ahead of Windward Road (1:50.50) and Cayman Junior (1:51.47).

St. Benedicts' Primary (35.4) took the 4x600m boys shuttle relay over St. Judes' Primary ( 35.6), while Our Lady of the Angels Prep ran 34.6 to break the record in the 4x60m shuttle relay. They beat the previous mark of 34.69 set last year by St. Benedict's Primary. Quest were second in 34.7.

St. Catherine broke the record in the boys' Primary 4x100m by running 51.12 to beat the previous mark of 51.69 held by John Mills since 2003. Spanish Town, who also went under the previous record, finished second in 55.55, while Rousseau Primary (52.49) ended third.
