Youths in grave need of an identity
published: Friday | March 3, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WAS sickened in my spirit to hear the news of the schoolgirls, the daughters of Zion, caught having sex in a public bus.

I am not a member of any government organisation, nor am I in any way politically affiliated, but I know it's time to call out the women of excellence, and who have ears to hear let them hear.

Mother, imagine your daughter, your child of love, being stripped of her dignity, tarnishing her innocence, in no place less than in the back of a bus, public domain, in the broad of day.

Men who were put in authority fleeing, the unsuspecting public remaining stoic, numb, void of action.

Let's talk about our boys for a while. Mothers, have you seen our sons lately, where one in every three is neatly, painstakingly bleached, with tight custom-fitted khaki and perfectly arched eyebrows?

They have become prettier than the girls, turning to a lifestyle that is tugging like an undercurrent threatening to replace normality. Will no one cry out for our children?

Women of excellence, it's time for a radical change. It is time to put a woman at the helm in order for things to come full circle.

Women, put your power behind spine of the spirit of the leader that lies within Portia Simpson, this pioneering spirit of vision which needs to be imparted to this generation, in this time.

This is a call to action, let us not continue to do nothing, sleep with our eyes wide open in the broad of day.

Our youth are in grave need of an identity. By propelling one person in her destiny, we can have hope for the future. Save our children, please!

I am, etc.,
