THE 78TH Annual Academy Awards was a spectacular showcase of Hollywood's best, which tumbled many pundits, as Oscar proved he is not always as predictable as the industry says.

Among the biggest surprises of the night was the dark horse Crash, which copped the coveted Oscar for Best Picture, along with Original Screenplay and Film Editing. It was also had nominations for Actor in a Supporting Role (Matt Dillion); and (Music) Song.

PALACE CINEPLEX & CARIB 5

Already shown here on the local circuit, Crash heads a list of six films, which will highlight Palace Amusement's Oscar Week this year.

A compelling urban drama, Crash kicks the week off on March 8 at Carib 5 and Palace Cineplex.

The film has a stellar cast - Academy Award nominees Matt Dillion and Don Cheadle, Sandra Bullock; Ryan Phillippe; Jennifer Esposito; Loretta Devine and Ludacris and tracks the complexities of racial tolerance among individuals struggling in a multi-ethnic environment to overcome their fears.
