DUBLIN

SECURITY ADMINISTRATORS Limited (SAL), the leading provider of maritime security and related services in Jamaica and the Caribbean, will offer its first port facility security officers (PFSO) course for 2006 from March 29-31 at The Courtleigh Hotel & Suites.

The course presenters are certified by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) to conduct IMO model courses, and include port facility security officers from the region. Today we introduce you to one of these outstanding presenters - Agatha Dublin.

AGATHA DUBLIN

Agatha Carol Dublin is the chief port facility security officer for Antigua & Barbuda, with responsibilities for the management of the security administration at the Antigua Port Authority, and national responsibility for all certified ports in the twin-island state.

She joined the Antigua Port Authority in May 2004. As a certified security administrator, she is the competent authority for port security operations, having had a successful career in the airline industry for 22 1/2 years, 12 1/2 of which were spent as Antigua's international security coordinator, for the world's largest airline.

Agatha graduated from the Princess Margaret Secondary School in 1977 and she joined the airline industry in 1981 where she received most of her training and certification at the Flagship University in Dallas, Texas, and United States Customs.

As a security professional, her background includes training in risk management; dangerous goods and hazardous materials; crisis management; drug security; passenger security; X-ray operations; behavioural sciences, to name a few.

She is also an accredited trainer for the IMO Model Courses, and has embarked on a degree course in security and risk management from the University of Leicester.

Agatha is also an avid fan of sports and culture, having served her country as athlete and administrator. She is a member of Antigua's Local Security Committee for Cricket World Cup 2007, and has been charged with chairmanship of the ports, customs, immigration, and coast guard sub-committee.

PFSO COURSE

This month's PFSO course at which Ms. Dublin will be presenting, carries IMO certification and is ideal for PFSOs, deputy PFSOs, law enforcement officers with port security responsibilities, customs officers, ship operations and security personnel and shipping agents.
