ONLY THREE points separate the top two teams in the KSAFA/JN
Super League after the culmination of last weekend's 14th set of games.
Meadhaven United are still leading the bunch on 31 points. Despite a 0-0 draw away to Barbican on Saturday, they continue to hold Santos at bay. Santos beat former leaders August Town 1- 0 at Bell Chung Oval and in the process, moved to 28 points, three clear of August Town, and Maverley/Hughenden which played to a goalless draw with Bull Bay at Bull Pen.
Police National, who entered the round in fourth place, had their progress stalled by a firing Mountain View who beat them 3-1. Interestingly, the 3-1 represents the previous weekend's humiliation Mountain View suffered at the hands of Meadhaven.
Like Police, the Jamaica Defence Force, found no range and were tagged 1-0 by second from bottom Greenwich Town.
Although the newly-promoted Greenwich Town have not moved out of the relegation zone, they are now in a better position to battle for their lives.
The win inches them to 14 points, the same as Bull Bay. The two are 10 points clear of Shortwood United. Shortwood United, who are almost certain to return to the Major League, lost 2-1 to Rae Town Saturday. It was Shortwood's 12th loss in 14 games. They have conceded 25 goals, 18 less than Meadhaven.
MAJOR LEAGUE
Meanwhile, in the Major League, leaders Cavalier (34 points) returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Pembroke Hall (22), while closest rival Duhaney Park (30 points) mowed down Real Mona (18) 3-1.
In other games, Rockfort beat Central Kingston 1-0, as did Coorville Gardens (22) and Olympic Gardens (21) over Whitfield Town and Elleston Flats respectively. Brown's Town beat Moynes United 2-1 in the clash of the bottom placed teams.
