THE AUTHORITY of the National Resources Conservation Act (NRCA) presented the first instalment of a $4.8 million donation to the Negril Coral Reef Preservation Society (NCRPS) last Wednesday at the offices of National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA).

NRCA chairman, James Rawle, presented the cheque valuing $1.2 million which will be used in the management of the Negril Marine Park to Ms. Jean Brown, president of the NCRPS. The balance will be disbursed in quarterly instalments over one year.

At the presentation, Mr. Rawle expressed his satisfaction at being able to deepen the collaboration between the NRCA and the Negril Coral Reef Preservation Society. He expressed the NRCA's commitment to supporting the work of the NCRPS which acts on behalf of the NRCA in the management of the Marine Park. In her response, an elated Ms. Brown thanked the authority for the well-needed financial commitment to the Marine Park.
