published: Wednesday | March 22, 2006

RADEBE

SOUTH AFRICA'S High Commissioner to Jamaica, Advocate Faith Doreen Radebe, will be the guest speaker at the Women Business Owners' inaugural 'Directors Emeritus' luncheon', scheduled for Wednesday, March 29, at the Terra Nova Hotel, starting at noon.

Advocate Faith Radebe was recently assigned to the South African High Commission in Jamaica. Prior to her assignment here, she was the legal specialist in the Public Service Council of South Africa and manager in the office of the Coordinator for Information.

She also served as legal adviser to the South African Government between 1995-1996, director and legal adviser to the World Peace Council, legal adviser to the African National Congress Women's League and the Department of Intelligence.

The luncheon will be honouring five of Jamaica's women business trailblazers in recognition of their vision and pioneering work. The five honourees are Eileen Cliggott, renowned racehorse trainer; Daphne Hewett, creative designer of Dagor Stores and Garment Manufacturing; Sybill Hughes, hotelier, co-founder of the Mayfair Hotel, and Ruthlyn Villiers, quantity surveyor and contractor of VGH Holdings.
