Fasting and prayer
published: Thursday | March 23, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WOULD like to commend and congratulate Mrs. Portia Simpson Miller for having the courage and wisdom to do the one and only thing that the nation of Jamaica can do to wipe out the crime and poverty that are so overwhelming - calling this nation to fasting and prayer.

I have prayed for years for this nation to just shut down and obey God's word. If we really want God to move and bring change, we must show Him we are serious by laying everything else aside and seeking Him as a nation, as His people.

I thank God for Portia, the head of His new righteous Government in Jamaica, and will continue to pray for her strength to rely on the Saviour Jesus Christ to save this nation.

Portia, let nothing stop you from what God has called you to do. Be blessed and filled with wisdom and the Holy Spirit of God, as we all pray for the healing of Jamaica, land we love!

I am, etc.,

TERESA ROBINSON
