Carnival cuts profit outlook again
published: Wednesday | March 29, 2006

The Princess Cruise ship the 'Star Princess' arrives in Montego Bay after a fire aboard which killed 1 person and injured 11 on March 23. Fire broke out on the passenger decks of the ship as the vessel carried more than 3,800 passengers and crew from the Cayman Islands to Jamaica. - REUTERS

NEW YORK (REUTERS):

Carnival Corp., the world's largest cruise line, on Tuesday lowered its earnings outlook for the second time in a week after a deadly fire damaged its Star Princess ship and forced the cancellation of several cruises.

Miami-based Carnival said the cancelled trips and the cost of repairs to the ship, expected back into service on May 15, would cut earnings per share by about four cents to 5 cents for the second quarter as well as for the full year. On March 23, it lowered its full-year forecast, citing higher fuel costs.
