A 'Touch of France'
published: Sunday | April 2, 2006

From left, J. Howard Johnson and wife Brenda LaGrange-Johnson, American Ambassador; Barbara Munske and Jeremy Cresswell, British High Commissioner; and Dr. Oswald Harding exchange greetings at the reception.

ON THE penultimate evening of 'A Touch of the recently concluded France' expo, held at the Hilton Kingston hotel from March 18 to 20, organisers hosted a reception in honour of sponsors and the exhibitors.

At the poolside of French Ambassador Francis Hurtut's Hilcrest Avenue residence, both the English and French languages flowed among the invited guests.

The drum and guitar musical skills of Christian Laviso Quartet from Guadeloupe kept the patrons entertained, while they sipped wine and chewed on finger foods such as shrimp, tarts and fruits. The evening proved that language is not a barrier for the French to make an impact on Jamaica.

Some of those in attendance were: French Ambassador, Francis Hurtut; United States Ambassador Brenda LaGrange Johnson and husband J. Howard Johnson; British High Commissioner Jeremy Cresswell and Barbara Munske; Spanish Ambassador Jesus Silva; Marcia Erskine; Deiwight Peters and models Canise and Robert; Guadeloupian designers Eliette LeSuperbe, N'djamena Kinte Caprice and Cathia Coppry; Bertrand Bainvel; Andrea Bickhoff-Benjamin; Oswald Harding and wife Marigold Harding..
