A STAGE PRODUCTION of the 1972 cult film classic, The Harder They Come, opened last week at the Theatre Royal in Stratford, England. The show stars Rolan Bell as Ivanhoe Martin, the country boy who comes to town seeking a recording career but instead ends up in a life of crime.

The role of Ivan was made famous by singer Jimmy Cliff 34 years ago. According to a release announcing the play's opening, the cast is of Jamaican descent. The Harder They Come, stage version, is scheduled to close in the summer.
