JFF headquarters gets a facelift
published: Thursday | April 6, 2006

THE JAMAICA Football Federation (JFF) headquarters in New Kingston has received a $500,000 facelift.

"It is appropriate that I tell you that the refurbishing of the exterior wall, as you can imagine, has provided a lift to not only our staff members, but to visitors and indeed neighbours," said JFF president Crenston Boxhill at a press conference earlier this week.

"I hope you will agree that it is looking much more like a home," he said.

The building is painted in two shades of yellow with green strips at the side and top and this was made possible by the federation's sponsors.

SPONSORSHIP

Sherwin Williams, Supreme Ven-tures, Digicel, Wray and Nephew, Wisynco and Bigga/Wata came up with $450,000 worth of sponsorship support.

"I certainly will not belittle this. Some may see it as a mere symbolic upgrade, with little to do with sport," said Boxhill.

ACTIVE PERIOD

"However, the fact is that as we go forward into an increasingly active period, we expect to have more and more visitors from the international football community and it will be great to entertain them and have meetings in respectable surroundings displaying the best traditions of Jamaica," he said.

The JFF said it will be applying through the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation (KSAC) to have the respective sponsors' logos displayed.

"We are careful to be working with this authority and its guidelines, situated as we are in an area well monitored. I know our sponsors understand and agree with this approach," he said.
