Bun, cheese and gospel

HAVE YOUR children enjoy the fun of a treasure hunt, egg and spoon races and learn about the art of baking buns at the Bun and Cheese Festival.

The festival is schedulrd for tomorrow, April 9, on the front lawn of the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre, Hope Road, St. Andrew from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

A variety of buns such as yam, stout, ginger, carrot, cheese and coffee will be showcased on Sunday, along with fish burgers and other meals for children.

"Come and have lunch and dinner," says Marcia Hextal, executive director of Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), the organisers.

Patrons in attendance will be able to buy and sample buns, and also witness a bun making competition.

GOSPEL FESTIVAL

Commencing at 6:00 p.m. at the venue, will be the Children's Gospel Festival. Several youngsters, all under 15 years old, will compete to be the Children's Gospel Festival winner. On the line-up are soloists, groups and duets. Entertainers Kerron Ennis and DJ Nicholas will be the featured acts.

Admission to the gospel festival, $600 for adults and $300 for children, while it is $100 for adults and children under 12 years old free to attend the Bun and Cheese Festivities.
